Shrimp Feed
Neocaridina and Caridina shrimp foods are formulated to support growth, molting, and reproduction, with the right balance of proteins, vegetable fibers, and minerals useful for exoskeleton mineralization.

Forms and types: sinking sticks and pellets for regular feeding 2–3 times a week in mature planted tanks; slow-degrading snowflake (hulled soybean) for large colonies; "baby" powders and micro-granules 1–2 times/week when shrimplets are present; leaves and vegetable mixes (catappa, nettle, moringa, spirulina) for fiber and biofilm.
Recommended frequency: in planted tanks rich in biofilm, feed 2–3×/week; with a breeding colony or many shrimplets, increase to 3–5 micro-meals/week (including one powder meal). In community tanks with fish, feeding a few times a week is often enough because shrimp graze on detritus, algae, and biofilm.
For Neocaridina and Caridina: for cantonensis groups (Crystal/Taiwan), prefer reduced portions and "clean" foods rich in fiber and algae; for Neocaridina (Red Cherry, etc.), alternate protein sticks with vegetable components and dried leaves.
Good practices: dose amounts that are consumed within 1–2 hours, limit residue on the bottom, and remove uneaten food. Avoid overfeeding, which raises DOC (dissolved organic compounds), ammonia, and nitrates.
Tip: weekly example in a planted tank — Mon sticks/pellets, Wed natural leaf (catappa/nettle), Thu "baby" powder (if shrimplets are present), Sat light stick; always adapt the dose to the colony.
