Shrimp Supplements
Shrimp supplements support molting, growth, fertility, and coloration of Neocaridina (Neocaridina davidi) and Caridina (Caridina cf. cantonensis), without altering water stability. You'll find minerals for the exoskeleton, vitamins/antioxidants, "biofilm builder" powders, clays (montmorillonite/bentonite), and natural tannins (leaves/cones).

What's included:
- Molting minerals: calcium/magnesium and trace elements for a robust exoskeleton.
- Vitamins & antioxidants: support immunity, appetite, and colors (e.g., astaxanthin).
- Biofilm builders (powders/enzymes): stimulate biofilm, microfauna, and nutrition for shrimplets.
- Clays (montmorillonite/bentonite): release minerals and bind impurities → clearer water.
- Natural tannins: catappa leaves (Terminalia catappa), alder cones (Alnus glutinosa) for well-being and shelter.
How to use them (practical guidelines):
- Water base: set parameters with reverse osmosis water + dedicated salts (GH+/GH&KH+). Supplements do not replace proper remineralization.
- Biofilm powders: micro-doses 2–3× weekly (pinch of a spoon) in planted tanks; ideal for shrimplets. Avoid clouding.
- Clays: 1–2× weekly at minimal doses; a temporary slight haze is normal.
- Vitamins/pigments: moisten the stick/disc 1–2× weekly; remove leftovers after 1–2 hours.
- Leaves/cones: 1 catappa leaf per ~40–60 L (or 2–3 cones/20–30 L); replace every 3–4 weeks. To sink immediately, blanch for 1–2 minutes.
Neocaridina vs Caridina: Neocaridina tolerate supplements with a simple routine; Caridina prefer more frequent micro-portions and maximum stability of GH/KH/TDS (active soil recommended). Supplement "little but often".
Safety & compatibility: choose shrimp-safe products; avoid overlaps between similar formulas. Traces of copper as a trace element are sometimes present in feed: acceptable only at minimal doses and in products dedicated to shrimp. In case of live bacteria (uncommon in this section), turn off UV for 24 h.
Note: for remineralization salts (GH+/GH&KH+), use the dedicated subcategory “RO Water Supplements” (
Tip: build your routine on three pillars: stable water (RO + salts), balanced food, and micro-supplementation (biofilm/clays/vitamins) "little but often". This way you get regular molts, growing shrimplets, and full colors.
