Marine Water Bacterial Activators
Bacterial starters for saltwater initiate and stabilize reef biology (nitrogen cycle), accelerate rock/filter maturation, and aid recovery after maintenance or treatments in reef and fish-only tanks.

When to use them: tank setup (rock seeding), after large water changes or deep cleaning, post-treatments, filter/sump reactivation, bacterial/algal "bloom" phases.
Types: ready-to-use formulations at room temperature, vials/powders. Some mixtures include nutrients/carbon sources to promote colonization.
Good practices in the reef: shake the bottle well and dose in the sump near the intake or on wet rocks/media. Maintain high oxygenation; turn off UV/ozone for 24–48 h and remove or bypass carbon/resins in the first few hours. With filter socks/rollers, bypass for 2–4 h to avoid removing the dosed bacteria.
Recommended setup: for a new tank, follow the protocol on the label. Monitor NH3/NO2/NO3 and introduce livestock gradually when levels are stable.
Compatibility: reef-safe products for corals and invertebrates. Avoid excessive doses with antibiotics, oxidizers, or aggressive skimming (they might reduce efficacy).
Tip: for setup, establish the cycle RO water + salt → rocks and media → bacteria for 5–7 days with UV/ozone off → test NO₂/NO₃ reactivate UV after 24–48 h.
