Water purifiers
Electronic water purifiers keep the water clearer, limit algae and bacterial blooms, and reduce pathogens, without replacing biological filtration.

How they work: Electrolysis/microbubble devices generate active oxygen that inhibits suspended algae and bacteria; UV-C inactivates microorganisms in the water as it passes through the chamber.
When to use them: green/cloudy water, recurring surface film, heavily lit high-tech tanks, start-up phases or after major interventions. Ideal as a support to filtration.
How to choose: check supported liters, levels/modes (Fish/Plant/Shrimp or Low/High), timer/app, placement (internal, in-line, sump), consumption and availability of spare parts (electrodes/membranes, UV lamps).
Good practices: start with low power (Shrimp/Low profile) and gradually increase; maintain adequate oxygenation. Regularly replace UV bulbs/electrodes and clean the cell. Turn off UV when dosing live bacteria.
Tip: for "green water", use UV in an intensive cycle for 3–5 days, then switch to maintenance; with Chihiros/electrolysis, start with the Shrimp/Low profile and observe the tank's response.

Warning: electrolysis/microbubble purifiers should not be used in marine or brackish water and are not recommended in the presence of saline/medicinal additions: they can generate oxidants (chlorine/hypochlorite) dangerous for fish and invertebrates. In these cases, use only a UV and turn off the UV when dosing bacteria/treatments.
