Coral foods provide targeted nutrients to SPS, LPS, and soft corals: phytoplankton, zooplankton, powders, and liquids with specific particle sizes to maximize polyp extension, growth, and coloration.

Types: phytoplankton (5–50 µm) for filter feeders and soft corals; zooplankton/microfauna (50–200 µm) for LPS and SPS; powders with controlled dispersion; liquids/gels for quick use; frozen for large mouths (LPS).

Administration: target feeding with a pipette or baster for LPS and large polyp corals; powders for SPS and soft corals. Pause the skimmer for 20–30 min to reduce food removal.

Indicative frequency: photosynthetic corals 1–3 times/week in small doses; NPS (non-photosynthetic) species require more frequent and specific feedings. Avoid overfeeding to prevent increases in NO₃/PO₄ and DOC.

Quick choice: filter by particle size (µm), form (powder/liquid/frozen), and target (SPS/LPS/soft/NPS) to correctly match particle size and species.

Tip: feed in dim light or after "lights out" when polyps are more extended; use a small amount of food and observe the coral's response before increasing the dose.
