Before suspending for a few months the usual classic multi-day sessions I typically carried out, I had a few days available for my last fishing trip.
The places to choose from are usually so numerous that it takes me weeks with my partners to choose even half of them.
But not this time.
I didn't think about it for a second; I wanted to dedicate my last time to my Great River, because I knew we could say goodbye with a smile.
And so it was, all fish of excellent size and in amazing condition, with a final strike just as a tear was almost falling from my eye, before packing up the rods, which, as always, were the last thing to be loaded into the car.
It felt like I could almost talk to the water, in moments when the activity dropped, sitting for hours trying to understand what to change, to decide the timing of the casts so they wouldn't become counterproductive.
I hope they continue to call me crazy, perhaps because they envy those who can be happy with little, or perhaps because they have never experienced certain emotions.
It doesn't matter if the goal is a fish or something much more important; if you give it your all, the satisfaction will make your legs tremble.
Full speed ahead, always
Goodbye Po.
See you soon. Filippo Pagliarini
