▼ How it works

In a newly set up aquarium, the selected bacteria of Bactiva immediately colonize the filter and substrate, starting the nitrification cycle (ammonium → nitrites → nitrates) and lowering the dangerous nitrite peak before it can become lethal for the fish. The live bacteria — not in spore form like in many competing products — are immediately operational.

Directions for use: add according to the dosage indicated on the package. Also useful after filter cleanings, medicinal treatments or biological overload.

Expert advice: normally the start-up cycle requires 4-6 weeks: with Bactiva the times are significantly shortened. Use it in combination with Aqua Digest for a complete biological purification — Bactiva for the nitrogen cycle, Aqua Digest for organic residues and the oily film.
